Seeing how planners fail to account for where people really want to go is interesting. They’re called desire lines because they indicate peoples desired route. I felt I’d tapped into something quite unique for a while. Then I went to see a Ryan Gander loose associations talk at 176 and as a result I realised years previous I’d once had a conversation with someone about another Ryan Gander lecture they’d been to, in which he talked about desire lines and his collection of photographs of them. In time, I’d forgotten that conversation and adopted the idea of the collection of my own. Given the nature of his Loose Associations it seems quite apt. I should probably send him these for his collection.
