The box

The box

The box
A impractically large packing crate, conceived as a way to begin again, and a strategy to tick the boxes required, without coming to a fixed formalisation, by way of a cheap(ish) shot at piss poor exponents of relational aesthetics. It came to pass that it stood for much more than that. Deacon's 'Stuff Box Object' was in there as was Judd and proportion. Serra's bigness. 1m square polystyrene cubes of Sculpture A. Cubism. Modernism. Corbusier's le modular. One hit wonders 'living in a box'. Thinking outside the box. It were rife I tell you. Many things came to mind. Given these things I was thinking, it was also bit of a monkey on my back and not all that hospitable. It served its purpose though.
